It’s been an oddly busy week around here. Maybe because the sunlight lasts longer? Or the temperatures haven’t started with a negative sign? It’s hard to be sure, but one thing is absolute: I get a kick out of browsing all the linkies on Fridays through the Doodlebugs‘ Five for Friday linky party. I’ve gotten lots of good ideas and really enjoyed peeking in your classes. Thanks!
Not that we need an extra reason to love Fridays 🙂 but my Five for Friday this week is dedicated to the online reading lessons I’ve been putting together. Since I can’t have the time away from testing to actually teach, I want my kiddos to keep reading. One skill we struggle with is reading from a computer monitor and transferring that to comprehension work. Maybe because so very few of my students have computers at home? I don’t know.
At any rate, I created some lessons for them to do when they visit the public library and other classrooms when they’re there. I thought I’d put them together and share for those of you who have readers in the same boat. Enjoy! And enjoy the weekend!
