Another week in the books…slow down, summer! We’re just getting started and June seems to be almost over. Boo!
The good news is that I’m starting to get into a healthier groove than I ended the school year with. My every day may not be perfect, but as long as I’m making progress, I’ll take it. Posting for my third week in the Get Fit Friday linky is progress in and of itself!
Oh, and before I jump into my week, be sure you stop by the Work It Wednesday fitness linky by Katie over at Queen of the First Grade Jungle. I just surfed across her linky and joined up this Wednesday for the first time…and left inspired. Great ladies and stories over there!
No more putting off the inevitable. Here’s my weekly wrapup:
For the most part, I really did nail the ‘be active’ part. I did fewer formal workouts (T25, 21 Day Fix, P90x…I have them all and then some!) and more just being active. With the hubby being out of commission and on the couch, there are lots more chores to keep up on and that kept me hopping. Not complaining at all–the opposite in fact–because I liked being active and feeling some sort of accomplishment. The only day I didn’t nail the 2 hours was Tuesday. One day off wasn’t bad, especially because it wasn’t by choice that I missed the time.
My biggest accomplishment this week was remaining positive. With hubby not feeling his best and some other issues going on, I did have some down time…but it didn’t derail me. One of my biggest downers was the untimely injury to my FitBit. Yes, you read that right. I’m sad because my BFF (best fitness friend) somehow became cloudy with condensation on our 3 mile walk Monday morning. I’ve had FitBits go through the wash before and revived them with the rice trick, so that’s where me and the FitBit are right now:
Sadly, I don’t have much hope of recovery. It just keeps blinking and the swipe screen is unresponsive. I’ve emailed FitBit customer service, as I’ve only had this since January and it didn’t even get wet (!!) to condense. I have been very fortunate in the past with customer service (I’ve been a customer forever) so I’m hoping that pans out again.
I want to do a better job of keeping track of my workouts and meals and everything that goes into fitness, so I decided to transform my Plum Paper planner into a workout journal. Right now, it’s kind of lonely and empty, although I have been drawing colored dots on the pages before this one to keep track of my 21 Day Fix meals:
Next week, I’m hoping to show off a really colorful week of healthy activity. I plan to get there through stickers, even though I have none, which is why my bullet journal page for today became a challenge of sorts. I had lots of little chores to catch up on around the house (playing into that activity challenge) and, to motivate myself to get them all done, I made a deal with myself. For every task I completed on the list, I can buy a sheet of printable planner workout stickers from Etsy. I’ve been favoriting a bunch of stickers (I like the printable ones so I can make as many as I want) and trying to come up with a way to justify getting some for my planner. Perfect solution! Here’s my bullet journal list of tasks and, for each one completed, a colored square:
Looks like someone on this blog is gonna be getting some new stickers!!
I’m so glad you stopped by the linky and hope you join in! How do you motivate yourself when meeting your goals is a challenge? I’d love to hear. I’d also love to hear how your week went and what you’re looking to accomplish next week. Download the linky template here and come back to link up below.
Have a healthy week!
