Happy July, everyone! I think it’d be a whole lot happier if we had more sunshine than rain here in Ohio, but you can’t have it all, can you? Let’s hope your plans for celebrating Independence Day tomorrow are full of sunlight, fun and memories…and not raindrops!
You may have noticed I’m a little planner-obsessed on my journal lately. I have been absolutely loving playing with my planners, making new spreads, decorating, drawing…it refreshes my soul to do artsy things. This last school year took a lot away from me in terms of joy, and I’m trying every trick I can think of to get myself back before heading into another year in August. Or maybe it’s just my mid-career slump? Whatever it is, I’m super happy to be a part of the Pinterest Pick 3 linky party hosted by the always-fabulous Inspired Owl’s Corner and Pawsitively Teaching…because everyone needs more Pinterest in their lives, right? 🙂
I’ve themed this Pick 3 post for those of you who are also planner-loving teachers like myself, or those who are just curious. Pinterest has an amazing array of links to free printables that look awesome in planners, and I’ve pulled together a couple of the ones I think you’ll like.
And if you *REALLY* love planners, do be sure to stop by my blog on Sunday. I’m participating in the Plan With Me linky and we’re giving away prizes. GOOD prizes. Two $50 Michaels gift cards are highlights…bookmark my blog now, or follow me on Instagram, where I’ll post a reminder to stop by. I’d love for you to win!
And now for the printables! Hope you find something great–and have a fun-filled 4th of July!
Printable Group #1: Stickers
Planner Flag Stickers Printable from Wenda at Wendaful Designs
Lilac Dreams Planner Stickers from Vintage Glam Studio
I am currently in head-over-heels love with printable stickers in my planners. Why? Because pre-cut stickers in similar designs on Etsy are expensive, and I’m still experimenting. With sticker prices at $3-$4 a page, why not download some freebies (or buy printable stickers at Etsy for less than a dollar), print and cut them out myself? I find cutting stickers somewhat meditative, and I know it isn’t for everyone. But it’s so stinking simple!
How do you print your own stickers? Easy! There are two ways, if you don’t own a Cricut or other sticker-cutting machine:
1. Buy sheets of sticker paper at Walmart, Staples, or any craft store.
2. Put ’em in your printer. Print. Cut. Stick….
1. Print the stickers on regular paper (though I find that printing on heavier-weight paper, such as 28lb. paper, makes them less flimsy and more sticker-like), cut out and stick with glue, Glue Dots, sticker tape, washi tape…whatever adhesive you choose…to your page.
And as a bonus, both of the websites above have a TON of printable stickers for downloading in a number of colors and designs. Here are the direct links:
Wendaful Designs: (she has 41 sets on this page)
Vintage Glam Studio: (on her home page, do a search for “free printable” and you’ll think you hit the printable sticker jackpot!)
Printable Group #2: Planner Pages
Today is the day printable (part of a HUGE free printable, “The Harmonized House Project“, at World Label)
Half Size Daily Page printable planner from I Heart Planners (run, don’t walk, to Laura’s site, if you love printables, planners, and everything about them. You won’t be disappointed–you might find yourself blog-
stalking-loving her site as much as I do…!)
Maybe you don’t want to jump into the whole artsy aspect of journals and planners, but you do like the way the planner pages can pull together all of your tasks in a manageable chunk that looks as pretty as it is free. I actually put together my family journal/scrapbook from printables then bound them together in a Circa system from Levenger. I’ve even printed off the small daily planner pages when I’ve had really busy days coming up, cut them out and stuck them straight on the page of my bullet journal. Anything that keeps me organized is worth it. Even better when it’s free 🙂
One of my favorite ways to take notes on my day in my planners is to print journal cards on sticker paper, cut them up, stick them in my bag and write a note or memory to myself when they happen, then just stick them into my planner. Of course, you can do it the traditional way by printing on cardstock or paper and gluing them in. Either way, they’re a fun, quick way to remember those moments in your life that slip away too soon!
The question is…are you ready to get that planner going? If so, be sure to stop by on Sunday for a chance to win all kinds of goodies and a gift card to Michaels that you can use on planner fun stuff…and to see how I put together my fitness planner.
Oh, and have a fabulous summer! Get out there and enjoy 🙂
