It’s been a bit, hasn’t it? I wish I had a better reason for missing last week’s Plan With Me Sundays post, but the real truth is that last week dealt my family a harsh hand of cards. Long story short, my hubby was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fortunately, (if there is such a term when it comes to cancer diagnoses), it is treatable, controllable and we are in wonderful hands with our medical team. Only positive thoughts!
It’s hard to get back into the groove of life and everything else when you’re handed something so intense, but time is a luxury I don’t have at the end of July. I am also a summer camp program director for a camp with teens who have diabetes…and camp starts Sunday.
But little things are conspiring to keep me going and keep my spirits lifted. The day after the diagnosis, my first monthly planner kit from The Scarlet Lime Planner Society arrived, full of color and to remind me to get back to planning:
And here’s all the goodies it contained. This is the photo from the Scarlet Lime Planner Society, not my own…but all of these wonderful goodies were contained inside:
The colors were terrific, uplifting and just plain fun. I’m so glad I signed up for the monthly box! Since I will be heading to camp (and hubby to recoup at his parents for the week–he is insisting I not miss camp) on Sunday, I wanted to dedicate this week’s spread to camp, but in a much simpler way that noting all our daily activities. Since I will take my new Selphy photo printer, my plan is to decorate this page of my Happy Planner with photos of those I love most from my 23 years at camp. Here’s my blank canvas: camp week’s spread.
I fell in love with this scallop-designed paper in the Planner Society box:
So I decided to cut it out along the wavy lines, put a Glue Dot on each edge, and post it across the box headers as sort of a scalloped banner. Here’s how the second half of the week turned out:
I am leaving the headers open from end to end because my idea is to print off my Selphy photos and arrange them under and over the borders. I can always go back and add a Glue Dot (man, I love those things, don’t you?) to make everything stick nicely. Here’s the entire week spread, headers done and a cute bubble card cutout on the monthly view.
I also have an idea to use a few of the journaling cards and/or the sticky notes from the Scarlet Lime box to write a couple notes on and stick them in my finished pages at the end of the week. Here are the ones really calling my name 🙂
I feel kind of undone, not posting a photo of it completed, but I’ll make that my goal to get it up and done in the week I come back from camp so you can see how it turned out! As you’re reading, I’m just getting into the camp groove. Come back soon for an update 🙂
Looks like I’m off to pack for camp. I haven’t done laundry in a week…yikes…where has my summer gone?
Enjoy your week! Don’t forget to enter the Rafflecopter drawing below for your shot at your very own Erin Condren planner!
