Well, hello friends!
Even though I’ve not been around much, I’ve been missing blogging and catching up with all of you. Life’s just been requiring lots of changes on my end and that takes time from blogging. Now that we’re a month into school, a new routine and everything that goes with it, I’m hoping everything settles nicely and I get to spend more time here. Sundays with Teaching Trio’s Sunday Scoop linky are a great place to hop back in, so here we go!
3 things I have to do
*laundry, vacuum, dishes…: You all know the feeling, right? This past week was insanely busy for us. We really had no evenings free as we both had open houses, appointments and meetings that took us late into the night. The price we teachers pay is a messy house and more work to do. I am promising myself I’m going to change that this year…
*catch up on my Happy Planner photo spreads: If you’ve been here to my blog any time over the summer, you’ve noticed my infatuation with planners. I’m still going strong despite not posting my photos and ideas. One of the big fun planner projects I did this summer was with my Happy Planner (from Me and My Big Ideas). I am not really great at doing the fancy, beautiful spreads in advance of my week because my week changes so much. I have always wanted to (read: bought supplies for LOL) scrapbook more on a regular basis, so I decided to use my Happy Planner for that purpose. I was doing well keeping up until last weekend–until this week’s busy-ness exploded on us. I have last week and this week to put in my Happy Planner, so I want to catch up on that today to start next week fresh. Maybe I’ll post photos when I’m done. Knowing I’ve made a public promise guilts me into action 🙂
*meal prep for the week: we did fairly well eating decently last week but we both know we need to do better in that area. I did some meal planning, shopping (my least favorite task on the planet: grocery shopping) and all I need to do is put it together. I want to do the bulk of the prep work today so I can pull out dinners-mostly-done on weeknights. We’ll see how that goes.
2 things I hope to do
*start a new TPT product: I had a dream last night about using a game in my classroom that doesn’t exist. The game was so fun and the kids loved it…so I woke up with the urge to make that game and use it in class. It’s got a bunch of different variations, so there’s that to think about too. It’s just a great, fun idea. We’ll see if it works.
*prep blog posts: like my meal plan, I’ve written down some ideas that will make great blog posts (in my own mind)…if they can just get written. I might not get to this today but I want to try to bullet point them so when I do get the time, the writing flows.
1 thing I’m happy to do
*get out in the sun! It’s going to be one of those spectacular fall days today in Ohio and I don’t want to waste it. Yes, I have laundry and dishes, but I am using the sunshine as a catalyst to get everything done *fast* so I can enjoy a long walk (or, let’s be honest, an afternoon nap!) while the sun keeps watch.
How is your Sunday shaping up? Hope you find some time to take care of yourself amongst all the crazy busy-ness of life and teaching!
