Despite the downright depressing weather here yesterday, today is shaping up to be beautiful. Chilly, but beautiful. Spending winter days at -25F can really change your perspective on what makes a day truly “cold”, doesn’t it?
This week’s been a wild and crazy ride all the way around–both at home and school. We finished our first (of 3) weeks of PARCC testing and hubby and I have been battling a round of rotten colds (and, for me, double the fun…allergies), and we are ready for a new week! I love how the Teaching Trio’s Sunday Scoop makes me pause and shed last week in hopes of something better this week.
So here are the hopes…
3 things I have to do…
*bake something. Over the winter I mastered my biggest kitchen fear: yeast breads from scratch. I have never had much luck with them but finally figured out how to get them to work for me. Full of excitement, I pinned a ton of new recipes on my personal Pinterest board and can’t wait to get going. My idea is to make the dough on Sundays to have through the week…but I’d better start small…
*start online course. As a birthday gift to myself, I signed up for an online blogging course that came highly recommended by several blogging colleagues. It was a little more pricey than usual but the lessons are exactly what I need to fill the gaps in my blogging knowledge. Even though I’ve been blogging since the early 90s, I’ve never taken it seriously as a potential moneymaker, and this course gears me in that direction. I’m a little nervous and a lot excited. Today is our first lesson, so I want to get going on it!
*write and schedule posts. I am really loving putting together the TPT product posts once a week, but last week I put it off until Monday (I like to post them on Tuesdays) and ended up at a very late meeting Monday…so much for the blog post. I want to avoid that this week, so today’s goal is to get that one done. I’m also participating in the Pinterest Pick 3 linky on May 3rd and want that post to get scheduled so I can move forward. Easier said than done, isn’t it?
2 things I hope to do:
*corral clothes. I have one small tub of winter clothes and boots that go to the basement, a basket of clean clothes to get put away and hung up, dirty clothes to get into the laundry, clean clothes from the cruise to be put away…ack! My life is being run by clothing and it makes me crazy. It will only take me half an hour to get it done, but maybe if I procrastinate, they’ll put themselves away? I wish…
*thank you note. One of my longtime girlfriends and I (she moved to my school in 6th grade) both have April birthdays. Over the years, we have always sent each other a gift for our birthday. I always send her flowers and she usually sends me flowers or Ohio State stuff. This year, I sent her a super-cute bouquet (her birthday is April 1) and yesterday (my birthday) she sent me a big gift card for a nice restaurant. I need to send her a thank you note before it slips my mind…and that’s gotta happen today.
1 thing I’m happy to do:
*walk Miss Omar. Weather here has been abysmal this weekend and, as a result, Miss Omar has been cooped up without walks. She’s used to her regular trots to the park and I’m going to make sure that happens today. I know she wants to go to the dog park, but it will be a soupy mess after yesterday’s all-day rain. She’ll be happy with anything, I know. It’s why I love her 🙂
Sounds like a busy Sunday on my end. How about you? I love catching up with the posts on this linky! Enjoy your week!
