Happy Sunday, friends.
And it *is* extra-happy for me because it puts me on the official countdown to summer since we only have 3.2 weeks of school left. Even better, only 3 more Mondays.
Unlike most Sundays, though, this is a busy one. A good busy, full of things I enjoy doing but really have to get finished today because there are deadlines that wait for no one. See for yourself!
I’d love to see what your Sunday has in store. Hop on over to Teaching Trio, download their cute Sunday Scoop template and join in the linky!
3 things I have to do…
*bake and prep tomorrow’s AP Chem breakfast. Yes, I teach middle school ESL. But hubby teaches AP Chemistry and their culminating exam is tomorrow. They are a stressed bunch of kids right now…lol. Many years ago, hubby asked if I’d make cookies for them to munch on between tests because they couldn’t go get lunch during the test. That has evolved into a full-blown breakfast spread for the whole class. This year’s class of 17 kids will be treated to two casseroles: sausage/pancake and egg, bacon and cheese, fruit and bagels, juice, milk and a basket of cookies to munch around lunch time. I’ll prep the casseroles today and get them in the oven tomorrow around 5 am so they’ll be warm for breakfast (we live down the street from school). It’s so much fun, and they always make me the cutest thank-you cards!
*Finish & schedule tomorrow’s HUGE blog giveaway post. Tomorrow starts teacher appreciation week. This year, I’m a part of large group of bloggers giving away some of the biggest prizes I’ve ever seen in the teacher blog world. Trust me, that’s not hyperbole. There are gift cards, gifts in general, TPT products, teacher goodies and all kinds of other stuff you do NOT want to miss. It will be taking place until the end of the week and you’ll have tons of chances to enter via Rafflecopter, so do be sure you stop by. I promise it will be worth your time!
*Make sample Mother’s Day craft as a model for Thursday’s lesson. I found a super-cute, clever craft for Mother’s Day that will take more than a day to make (lol, doesn’t everything?) but it’s one of those things you need to show so kids get an idea of what they’re doing. Today between frying sausage and whisking eggs, I’ve got to find a way to make this craft. I’ll see how it turns out before I post it on the blog. Maybe Tuesday I’ll get it up.
2 things I hope to do:
*walk or bike for an hour. My bike tires are very sad and flat. I really wanted to ride yesterday but couldn’t find the air pump. Hubby found it cleaning the garage and I am almost ready to break out my purple bike. I don’t think it will get too hot today, so I’d like to get a little exercise between baking sessions. At the least, I’ll get out and walk an hour to finish listening to my current book-on-my-iPhone before it expires tomorrow.
*work on the second lesson of my blogging course. I finished the first lesson yesterday, not from lack of time but from lack of energy. Last week wore me out. I should be on the path to more energy now that the sun is out for more than 20 minutes during the day (lol). This week’s lesson is about creating content, which is something I love to do…but often fall short of finishing.
1 thing I’m happy to do:
*Get out in the sun and read one of my many TBR books. Self-explanatory, ya think? Not sure what I’ll read. I’m being gently forced to finish the Killing Patton book because my son is dying to read it…lol.
Enjoy your Sunday–and come back tomorrow for that AMAZING giveaway!
