As I popped open the laptop to put this post together for the Teaching Trio’s linky, a miraculous thing happened here at Starbucks in Columbus…the SUN came out. I had to shout it to be sure you heard, because it’s been missing-in-action for several days. As I look west, the cloud cover is getting thinner and the blue sky thicker, so let’s hope we get a day away from the monsoon rains. I know I have a lot to get accomplished, and rain just makes me want to nap…can’t have that!
3 things I have to do
*set up my planner for this week. If you’ve been reading, I’ve had an
obsession fascination with planners this summer break. It’s been a long time in coming–I think I have always been living on the edge of being one of those planner-crazy folks, with my continual purchases of planners, agenda books, calendars, stickers and scrapbooky things over the years. I guess the planner idea just brought it all together–and it’s really working for me. It turns out that Saturdays have been great days to set up my fitness planner (you can read about it here and here), and Sundays seem to be a perfect day to plan in my weekly planner. I’ve even got super-cute 4th of July -themed stickers. I can’t wait!
(by the way, if you want to see how I set up my fitness planner, stop by next Sunday for a post on Plan With Me Sundays. There’s also going to be a *huge* giveaway…)
*mow the front and back yard. First, the weather is even sunnier now than when I started, and it’s not raining. Since I think the saying, “Knee high by the 4th of July” refers to field corn, not grass, it’s time to mow.
*finish my Monday Made It. I updated my free Teacher Lessons and Loves journal for the month of July and can’t wait to share it tomorrow. I changed it a little to be a summer theme rather than for the classroom, but it’s flexible to whatever you want to use it for. Maybe a place for you and a little person to start a summer journal? If you want to see a past Lessons and Loves to get an idea, check it April’s here.
2 things I hope to do
*finish the first ten freebies in my new TPT product. This is one I have absolutely been dying to put together. It’s more than just a basic set of worksheets, though. I don’t want to tell too much, but here’s a sneak peak of another element I had to do first before I even started writing the comprehension part:
I’ll tell you more soon, I promise!
*get to Target for a SoulCollage notebook. No, that’s not quite right. It’s not a SoulCollage notebook, it’s for a new notebook to use for my upcoming SoulCollage facilitator training. That’s in two weeks, and I want my own separate notebook to keep for all I know I’m going to learn. I always like to get new notebooks for note taking when I start something I know will be a meaningful part of my life. Do you do that, too?
1 thing I can’t wait to do
*Sit outside and read. Fortunately, the clouds agree! They’re nearly gone now, or at least enough that we can call it a sunny day. I don’t know what I’ll read. I’ve been reading bits and pieces of books that just aren’t grabbing me for the full length of a novel yet. I’ll let you know.
Oh, and before I forget–speaking of my newfound planner love, I’ll be part of a big, huge giveaway next Sunday as part of the Plan With Me Sundays linky. Here’s a little teaser:
See you next week! I don’t want this sunshine to go to waste 🙂
