Yay! Another Sunday, another Sunday Scoop. I like how this link from The Teaching Trio makes me think ahead, even when I’m at a point in my day where thinking doesn’t come quite so easily. Even though Sundays are pretty low-key around here, they’re full of catching up and getting prepped for the week ahead. And here’s how mine is looking!
3 Things I *Have* To Do:
*finish grading journals. I think you all know that special kind of pain, but my guys (and all of my students in 7th and 8th grade are guys this year!) are finally catching on to the perfect way to write a reaction paragraph. They’re great…just time consuming!
*make the lesson plan syllabus. I have my lessons ready, but I have started the practice of making a weekly syllabus for the guys so that they can start to become independent learners. This year, I’m putting a lot more technology into the lessons–tech they can access from home (even though the majority of them do not have technology in their homes) and they are interested in doing a mild version of flipping instruction. It’s working OK so far…
*take Miss O. to the puppy park. I think that’s self-explanatory. She loves the park (even though she’s 12, she still thinks she’s a puppy :)) It’s so cool outside, which means it’s easier on her. Let’s walk!
2 Things I *Hope* To Do:
*Plan grocery shopping and dinners. This week will only be a 4 night week for us. I’ll be out of town from Friday night-Sunday night, but want to make dinner the nights I can. I am down to the bare bones of everything in my vegetable drawer in the fridge, so I need to figure out what I’ve gotta get tomorrow after school. I so hate shopping…
*Start my wardrobe project. I read a great article about the idea of paring down your wardrobe to those pieces you wear most, to save aggravation in the mornings and to get more mileage out of the clothes you love. I’ve done some minor purging, but really want to sit down and create a plan of attack for the rest of the closet, to see what I want to keep, purge and store for the next season. I am nowhere close to being a fashionista, but I hate the stress of the closet.
1 Think I’m *Happy* to do
*Prepare for next weekend’s retreat. In my free time <insert laughter> I like to get crafty and collage-y. I have been working with a group of ladies in the last few years who do Soul Collage, and I really have come to love and look forward to our quarterly gatherings. Each year, they have a fall retreat in the beautiful hills of southern Ohio, and for whatever reason, I can never go (usually football games). This year, football is not a problem, so I saved up my dollars and signed up. From Friday evening through Monday morning, we will be collaging and collaborating and setting up our dreams and plans in only the way a really dynamic group of great ladies can. I am so excited…but I have to pack and prep. I’ll probably procrastinate on that one…if you know me!
How about your week? How are things looking? Hope it’s a fabulous one!
